Whiplash

Taken from the Bald Hill opal fields, Lightning Ridge N.S.W. on the 8.10.10. around 6:50pm EDST.

A lot of these bolts were grounding crawlers so this gave me a little breathing space with which to hit the shutter button. I was still around a 1 second exposure here I believe. All the shots from these storms were taken with my 10-20mm Sigma lens -hence the small looking bolts but they weren't small to me while I was standing out in it

The cloud structure was really nice not to mention the lightning was everywhere so going with the 10-20mm was a no-brainer. Love the extra sky coverage it offers with storm work.
