Taken from the Bald Hill Opal Fields, Lightning Ridge, N.S.W. on the 23.3.13 at 10:41pm EDST
A nice overall image of the scene that took place out on the plains N-NE of town. Met up with friends after being unable to get out onto these storms due to some unforeseen and highly unfortunate circumstances.
It was very nice to see a little storm action after several dull weeks. Our temps are still averaging in the mid thirties and it's still holding high humidity so I would expect storms from troughs across the Eastern states right through into April at this stage. See how it goes.
A little tricky to balance this out at times due to a very bright Moon overhead (extreme top left corner with a subsequent flare) so I kept the ISO to a bare minimum -this prevents the cloud details overexposing.
It remained quite distant from town. At this stage it was about 80 Kilometres and heading out to the South East.
