Getting somewhat distant by this stage but still putting on an amazing display! I was concentrating more and more on the monster storm forming behind me at this point. I had to cut my losses soon after this and get walking back to a western vantage point on the other side of town.
After many years of doing this you learn to not grasp at straws when storms get distant and miss out on something else that may be approaching. Only having a 16-35mm lens makes this choice much easier. Maybe if I had a more standard tele lens I might have stuck around a bit longer?
We are fortunate to get this type of multi-cell scenario a lot out here so it's easy to know whats about to happen most times. There was quite a bit of atmospheric dust kicking up from the outflow winds (almost knocking me over several times) so this accounts for the nice colouring you see here.
