Taken from the Bald Hill opal field, Lightning Ridge, N.S.W. 28.12.12. at 8:48pm EDST

This was one of those times that I really enjoyed shooting a bit of lightning. Having my good friend Jase [link] with me, no threat to our lives via a lightning strike (makes a change) and what I can only describe as a simply spectacular display of weather in front of us was something else.

Nice to see the Moon creeping into the shots on the lower right side there too. A real bonus to have! The colour returning as the Sun dipped below the horizon was interesting. A very small bank of clouds out on the horizon just offered enough to really light the diffuse anvil :)
